Dalet, a leading provider of Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions, software and services for content producers, announced today the release of its second generation application programming interface – API2. Featured at the upcoming NAB 2014 exhibition (booth SL2725), and an integral part of the Dalet Galaxy MAM platform, the new SOA-compliant Web Services API2 provides a high level of interoperability and straightforward integration with third-party broadcast and corporate systems and applications. API2 will simplify and empower third-party integration with new capabilities.
“As the demand from our customers for third-party integration and interoperability grows, Dalet APIs become a very strategic development tool to achieve their business goals,” says Kevin Savina, Director of Product Strategy at Dalet. “Dalet’s second-generation API offers customers a breakthrough in terms of functionality, ease-of-development and maintainability.”
Designed with the Dalet open and scalable MAM vision in mind, Dalet API2 enables easy and seamless integration within existing environments and infrastructures. Backed by intuitive back-office services, a powerful BPM workflow engine and a wide range of features, Dalet API2 is a key component in making Dalet Galaxy an enterprise-class platform.
Based on the principles of SOA, Dalet API2 offers developers a set of high-level services, ranging from asset, media, metadata and search to more advanced services such as notifications, configuration, access rights and many more. The new organization exposes a much larger set of higher-level functions, allowing developers to easily build any required workflow. Dalet API2 also provides the best standards in security with support for WS-Security.
API2 also comes bundled with an intelligent dashboard for monitoring API usage per service. This includes usage type, number of calls and associated response times. The intelligent dashboard allows engineers and system architects to better anticipate bottlenecks and scale the infrastructure accordingly, optimizing third-party systems without impacting Dalet Galaxy performance.
The Dalet API2 release is accompanied by comprehensive documentation to help developers understand and make the most out of the new capabilities.
